Visual Communication

These are projects that I planned from start to finish. I researched, wrote the text, created the graphics, and designed the layouts.

Vaping & Your Body

An Exploration of the Effects of E-Cigarette Usage

Project Type

Social media slide deck

Tools

Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, & Acrobat

I created a slide deck-style social media infographic explaining the effects of vaping on your body. My primary audience was college students who have never vaped but may or may not be considering vaping. I did extensive academic research on the effects of vaping while planning this project. For the text, my main goal was to summarize the main harms of vaping at a surface level and briefly, so it would be social media friendly. I designed the graphics with inspiration from Heart and Brain Comics by The Awkward Yeti. Cartoons and comics can be a great way to explain complicated or dull material to laypersons. Additionally, I thought something fun and colorful would attract my audience on social media.

Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD)

How to Support Your Loved Ones

Project Type

Educational brochure

Tools

Adobe Illustrator & InDesign

I created a brochure to inform family and friends how to support their loved ones who have Generalized Anxiety Disorder. It is a conversation starter, not an exhaustive guide. I designed this brochure to be something you might find in a therapist’s or doctor’s office. I wrote the brochure text using academic research. I designed the brochure layout and created all of the graphics. I based the color scheme on the mental health and anxiety awareness ribbons.
